Isn’t it funny how one single role can forever change an actor’s career? We all know and love Josh Brolin for his role as Llewelyn Moss in No Country For Old Men but before that, his career was pretty much relegated to has-been status.
Brolin started off promisingly enough, landing the role of Brand Walsh in The Goonies way back in 1985 but after that, he made a couple missteps. He was originally offered the role of Tom Hanson in 21 Jump Street but turned it down to do another show (which got canceled) and the role of Tom Hanson went to some no name actor: Johnny Depp. Never heard of him. Although Brolin managed to continuously find work, it wasn’t until 2007 when he landed the lead role in No Country For Old Men that everyone reignited their love for Brolin’s skills.
Since 2007, he has been one of the most sought after talents in Hollywood, landing memorable roles in such films as: American Gangster, W., Milk, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Jonah Hex. Keep an eye out for Brolin in the upcoming flick, True Grit, coming out later this year and Men in Black 3 in 2012.
